Ecodear – a wood-like sound from plant-based material

The body is made of Ecodear, a plastic in which part of the petroleum-based material has been replaced with resins derived from plant starch. Ecodear is considerably denser than ordinary plastic, giving a more centred tone, a pleasant blowing resistance and an easy response that comes very close to the sound of a wooden recorder.

The arched windway matches the standard of professional recorders and supports clean, controlled tone production right up into the high register. The baroque fingering with double holes allows precise intonation, while the undercut tone holes in the foot section and the Rottenburgh design ensure a balanced playing feel.

Practical tip

After playing, wipe the inside of the recorder dry with the supplied cleaning rod and, if needed, apply a little recorder grease to the joints – this keeps the connections smooth and airtight.
