The cabasa is one of Latin America's oldest percussion instruments – originally a gourd whose body was covered with a net of seeds or beads. The SEPCAB2 translates this principle into a modern, sturdy design: a cylindrical head made of black lacquered pine wood is wrapped in a ridged profile sheet, over which ten close-fitting metal bead chains glide. A light twist of the handle or a rhythmic shake is all it takes to produce the characteristic fine, beaded, rustling sound that sets the cabasa apart from the maracas.

The handle is covered with soft foam, giving you a secure grip even during longer playing sequences without tiring your hand. With a diameter of 115 mm, the cabasa sits comfortably in the hand – ideal for both pointed accents and continuous rhythm patterns.
