A grand piano that sings with you – the Yamaha CX series

The Yamaha C3X in Polished Ebony is the heart of the CX line, built for ambitious amateurs, piano teachers and concert pianists looking for an instrument that translates expression and dynamics straight into sound. The CX series carries key technologies from Yamaha's CFX concert grand line into this 186 cm C3X.

Soundboard and Tone Collector for a radiant tone

The soundboard is crafted from carefully selected spruce from the Kitami mill in Hokkaido – the same wood Yamaha uses for its concert grand pianos. An integrated Tone Collector gathers the sound precisely and projects it fully into the room, so every nuance of your playing comes through.

V-Pro frame construction and separated bridge for precise tonal clarity

The frame is built using the V-Pro Vacuum Shield Mold Process, delivering high dimensional stability and lasting tonal consistency. The two-piece separated bridge cleanly divides bass and treble, for clear, transparent tone across the entire keyboard.

Thoughtful comfort down to the last detail

The 88 keys with Ivorite key surfaces provide a secure grip even during long practice sessions. The soft-close fallboard lowers gently and quietly, the lid lock guards against unauthorized access, and the solid brass casters make the piano easy to move around the room.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Concert grand technology: soundboard and Tone Collector derived from CFX development.
  • Precise tonal separation: two-piece bridge for clear bass and treble reproduction.
  • Long-term stability: V-Pro frame construction for lasting dimensional accuracy.
  • Comfortable touch: Ivorite key surface with a secure grip.
  • Thoughtful details: soft-close fallboard and solid brass casters.
