Kawai wood technology uses all of the senses... seeing, smelling and touching when selecting the best woods. The soundboards are made of solid spruce with a very even grain, carefully selected, asymmetrically curved and scientifically tested to meet Kawai's high standards for resonance and the best sound.

THE MOST PRECISE PIANO ACTION IN THE WORLD

The combination of material strength, stability, precision and reliability makes Kawai's "Ultra-Responsive Action" a leader. The hammer heads are pressed from 100% "premium" wool. In order to make the mechanism resistant to climatic influences caused by the different seasons, temperature and humidity changes, Kawai has done pioneering work and constructed the mechanism beam and the hammer drop bar from aluminium. Many other precision mechanical parts are cast from extremely durable ABS Styran, which has very low frictional resistance.

THE PEG CONSTRUCTION

In the K series, the pegs are made of a strong laminated wood construction, which ensures optimal strength and excellent stability of the entire construction.
