It makes the action light and at the same time extremely stable, and considerably less susceptible to climate and humidity fluctuations than traditional wooden actions. The hammer heads with mahogany core are double-felted and provide a warm, nuanced touch from pianissimo to fortissimo.

The soundboard of solid, tapered spruce is the acoustic foundation of the K-200 and is responsible for the full, harmonically rich sound for which Kawai pianos are known. The string length of 1157 mm in the bass range provides rich, clearly defined low notes.
