Satin finish meets Style 18 – the Martin D-18 Satin
The Martin D-18 Satin brings the legendary Dreadnought character of the D-18 to the stage in a matte, understated satin finish. The thinner finish lets the wood vibrate more freely, further emphasizing this guitar’s open, direct character. The solid spruce top carries a warm Aging Toner tint that gives the instrument an instantly matured, vintage-leaning look, while the solid mahogany back and sides deliver the earthy, driving foundation that has defined the D-18 line for generations.
Fully solid-wood construction with forward-shifted scalloped bracing
Beneath the top, the forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing allows for exceptionally free vibration — the top can fully express itself, noticeably increasing dynamics, responsiveness and projection. Paired with the satin finish, this construction produces an instrument that sounds open and immediate from the very first minutes and continues to blossom the more it is played.
Outstanding playability and timeless Style 18 looks
The GE Modified Low Oval neck shape with High-Performance Taper feels comfortably slim in the hand and allows effortless playing across the entire ebony fingerboard. Abalone dot inlays in the Old Style 18 look, the black top binding, and the understated back purfling underline the classic, unassuming Style 18 aesthetic. A hardshell case with brass/nickel hardware and plush lining is already included.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Open, direct tone: the satin finish lets the wood vibrate more freely than a gloss lacquer.
- Fully solid-wood construction: top, back and sides entirely in solid wood — tone that matures with the instrument.
- Free-vibrating top: forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing for dynamics and projection.
- Outstanding playability: GE Modified Low Oval neck with High-Performance Taper and ebony fingerboard.
- Well equipped: quality hardshell case included.
