One bass note, eight octave fields – the D Kurd tuning

At the centre of the drum sits a rich bass note, surrounded by eight further note fields. Each of these fields consists of two tongues that reproduce the same note across two octaves, creating a full, layered soundscape. Pre-tuned to the popular D Kurd scale (D3/A3, Bb3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4, pitch reference 440 Hz), the Octave Steel Tongue Drum instinctively produces harmonious note combinations – even without any musical background.

The coated stainless steel housing is finished with a finely engraved floral pattern for lasting durability. Underneath the drum sits the sound hole with a removable silicone plug – insert it to make the sound more compact and focused.
