Kalimbas are sound reed instruments that have their origins in southern Africa and can be found there in countless shapes and designs. Our Kalimba B11 'Melody' is carefully handcrafted from solid American cherry (black cherry). The surfaces are treated and polished with vegetable oils and waxes. The 11 reeds are precisely tuned to the G major scale, allowing a variety of well-known songs to be played. The "Melody" is just as well suited for improvisation and intuitive playing.

When arranging the reeds, we alternately mounted long and short reeds for technical and tonal reasons. The six shorter tongues have been bent so that their ends are on a higher level than those of the long tongues so that they can be easily reached by the thumbs. When playing the notes from low to high, the five long tongues are plucked alternately with both thumbs from the middle outwards - the right thumb starts on tongue no. 6 - then the six short tongues, also from the middle outwards. The left thumb begins on tongue 5.

The Kalimba B11 Elektro model was equipped with a piezo pickup and a 6.35mm jack socket. This makes it possible to pick up the sound directly from the instrument without an additional microphone.

  • Factory tuning: G major ( G - A - E - D - C - G - D - G - F# - B - A )

We have had great experiences with Musik Ebert for years and are delighted with the service today. Our piano was picked up free of charge, disposed of and the new grand piano was delivered perfectly. Thank you very much!!!

I bought a Yamaha piano. I checked online beforehand whether it was available and then had everything explained to me in the shop. It will be sent to Switzerland. Customs and shipping will all be taken care of. Top service for us Swiss customers. Thank you very much.

Dave B.

Extremely friendly and courteous advice. After paying, I received confirmation that the money had been received the same day. Delivery is by courier within two working days. I can highly recommend it to everyone, bravo!
